April was another good month for trucking companies, with the amount of tonnage rising for the sixth time in the past seven months.
The American Trucking Associations, a trade group, said its advance index of for-hire truck tonnage rose 0.9 percent in April, more than its 0.4 percent rise in March. The index is adjusted for seasonal variations.
