ONTARIO - Southern California's location and infrastructure are the reasons the area can stay a leader in global transportation and logistics, according to transportation industry officials.

More than 500 of the industry's leaders gathered Friday in Ontario for the 2010 Southern California and Global Transportation and Logistics Summit at the Ontario Doubletree Hotel. The half-day event featured insight from transportation as well as logistics experts - much of it was positive.

"This region has every reason to expand. After all, its the eighth-largest economy in the world. It's not going to go away overnight," said Hasan Ikhrata, executive director of Los Angeles-based Southern California Association of Governments. To read the full article, click here.
