Houston, Nov. 9, 2015 (MindShare Strategies Media Services) – Satellite Logistics Group (SLG), a leading supply-chain solution provider for the beverage industry, has earned the 2015 Green Supply Chain Award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine for helping beverage companies to reach their sustainable supply chain goals.

The annual Green Supply Chain Awards recognize companies that are making sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy and working to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations or assisting their customers to achieve measurable sustainability goals.

This award recognizes SLG for helping customers to reduce their environmental footprint with the company’s EcoBev® material recovery service – the only turnkey nationwide green solution for beverage disposal.

SLG helps brewers and other beverage companies to collect, destroy and document the disposal of out-of-date, damaged or recalled product in an environmentally friendly manner that complies with EPA requirements. Annual volume of recovered product ranges from 500,000 to more than 3 million cases or kegs. To reduce the water-usage footprint in the recovery process, liquid is separated from its containers (which are also recycled), chemically treated and reused for a variety of purposes.

“One of our goals in developing Bev360™ supply chain solutions is to support our customers’ sustainability efforts,” said Kevin Brady, SLG president and CEO. “Our EcoBev® service gives companies a green alternative for product disposal. While no beverage producer wants to plan for the collection and destruction of unsalable products, the fact remains that the need could arise. Being prepared with a service such as EcoBev® ensures that unsalable products will be disposed of in an efficient, discreet and environmentally responsible manner.”
