Saia, Inc. (NASDAQ: SAIA) has named Mark Hamblin, Larry Mohr, and Ray Ramu its new sales divisional vice presidents (DVPs) for the companys western, central and eastern regions respectively. Saia created the DVP positions to help facilitate strong partnerships between field and national account sales, to enhance the direct contact between officers and key customers, and to reduce associated expenses by aligning management and teams into focused geographic areas.

 

Hamblin, the western region DVP, has been with Saia since 1999. He has over 18 years of experience in the transportation industry having worked as a manager trainee, both an inbound and outbound supervisor, sales representative, terminal manager, national account executive, and regional sales manager. In the Dallas region, Saias largest, Hamblin is recognized as having increased, over last years results, per day revenue by 13 percent and shipment count by seven percent.

 

Mohr, the central region DVP, began his career with Saia in 2002. Since joining the company, Mohr has served as both the Houston, Texas, regional manager of operations and sales and as a regional sales manager. He has over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry. Under Mohrs leadership, the Houston region posted the companys highest on-time service performance.

 

Ramu, the eastern region DVP, has been with Saia for over 10 years and has experience in operations and sales. With over 18 years of experience in the transportation industry, he began his career with the company as a Florida sales representative. Ramu was then promoted to the Ocala terminal manager/sales representative position before becoming the regional sales manager for the Jacksonville territory. Ramu is credited with facilitating growth in the Jacksonville region helping to make Saia one of Floridas premier carriers.
