Today, 12th April 2012, Mr Stephen Baggett, Sales Director, Americas for OAG Cargo, will be facilitating a panel-style discussion Workshop at the Air Cargo Brazil 2012 conference at which he is a keynote speaker.

The Workshop will focus on the IATA e-freight initiatives, covering e-freight from both an Airline and Forwarder perspective. Despite worldwide advances in computer technology, the air cargo industry still relies heavily on paper documentation for the exchange of information. Each international airfreight shipment can require more than 30 different paper documents – increasing the cost of airfreight and lengthening transport times.

Mr Baggett will also introduce OAG Cargo’s solutions and explain how they are already supporting electronic data exchange across the supply chain and helping to support process improvements and drive efficiencies.

The panel will include Mr Renato Reckmann (Regional Cargo Manager the Americas, IATA) and Alberto Mathia (Airfreight Director, SAO NA Kuehne + Nagel Servicos Logisticos Ltda).

Mr Baggett commented:
“Moving towards the electronic exchange of data and information will undoubtedly be in the best interests of the whole air cargo community. At OAG Cargo, we have been working towards this goal for some time now and we’re delighted to be able to support the IATA initiative. So I’m very pleased to have the opportunity to help further the process at such a highly influential event as Air Cargo Brazil 2012.”
