Anne S. Ferro, Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, will be the featured speaker for the "kickoff session" at the Transportation & Logistics Council's 40th Annual Conference "Education for Transportation Professionals" in Nashville, Tennessee on March 17th. The venue for the two and one-half day conference will be the recently renovated Loews Vanderbilt.

Ferro will report on the agency's implementation of “MAP-21” (the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act), as well as other regulatory initiatives such as Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA), the new HOS rules, the "5-Year Strategic Plan", new rules on registration and licensing, how these changes impact shippers, carriers and intermediaries, and will respond to questions from representatives of the press and attendees.

Acclaimed as the best educational program and best value in the industry, the educational sessions are presented by top experts and experienced practitioners who give attendees practical information and advice that they can take back and use in their every day business. The program includes General Sessions and Workshops touching on all modes of transportation and addressing a wide range of topics including insurance and risk management, international trade, outsourcing, loss and damage claims, supply chain cyber crime, loss prevention, and a transportation attorney panel where leading transportation attorneys will address current issues and recent court decisions.
