VIENNA, VA. — July 28, 2022 — Leading e-commerce parcel carriers LaserShip and OnTrac today announced the launch of a new transcontinental delivery service, as a result of the companies’ 2021 merger, to help retailers reach consumers in the country’s most populated regions with faster, reliable home delivery at a lower cost. The transcontinental service connects LaserShip and OnTrac’s complementary East and West Coast delivery footprints to move packages from coast to coast in as little as three days.

Benefits of LaserShip and OnTrac’s transcontinental service for retailers include:

  • Build brand loyalty by providing faster delivery that consumers are demanding
  • Reach 74% of the U.S. population across 30 states and Washington, D.C. in major metropolitan areas
  • Coast-to-coast coverage enables retailers to scale their business
  • Diversify carrier mix with a proven alternative
  • Seamless technology integration

“As national carriers continue to prioritize profits over partnerships, our transcontinental service gives retailers a faster, cost-effective, proven alternative with nationwide scale,” said Josh Dinneen, Chief Commercial Officer at LaserShip and OnTrac. “Our retail partners have been eagerly awaiting the launch of our transcontinental service. We are excited to fill the role as a supportive, long-term partner that can provide coast-to-coast coverage, speed, service, and reliability, while driving growth.”

The response to LaserShip and OnTrac’s transcontinental service has been overwhelmingly positive, with many leading, omnichannel retailers and direct-to-consumer e-commerce brands signing up to secure volume ahead of the launch. This new service is the first of many growth initiatives, as LaserShip and OnTrac integrate networks to form the first pure-play, coast-to-coast carrier of choice for last-mile e-commerce deliveries. LaserShip and OnTrac will also expand to Texas in the urban megaregion of Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio starting in the first quarter of 2023 to reach an additional 19 million consumers.

Dinneen added, “Our coast-to-coast service empowers retailers to meet their customers’ expectations of faster delivery while enabling access to the country’s largest population centers. By combining our networks, LaserShip and OnTrac have evolved into a critical part of the e-commerce infrastructure. We are proud to launch our new service and look forward to further helping our retail customers in the future.”

LaserShip and OnTrac announced in October 2021 that they will merge to form the first pure-play, transcontinental carrier of choice for last-mile e-commerce deliveries. The combined company will bring together two complementary operating footprints across the United States and enhance retailers’ ability to meet growing demand in the consumer e-commerce delivery market.
