| FedEx has won a major victory in its efforts to retain its current staffing model at FedEx Ground. The IRS has dropped its tax assessments related to FedEx Grounds use of contract delivery drivers for the years 2004-2006. They had previously dropped the for 2002 assessment. FedEx also expects that the 2007 & 2008 assessments will be dropped as well. The action likely removes any immediate threat at the federal level to FedEx Ground's use of 15,000 contract drivers. FedEx also faces actions at various State’s levels. |
