|Bridgeport, CT – EventEvolution Management, Inc., is pleased to announce that its 11th annual PARCEL Forum, which took place October 7-9 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, broke records for attendance and exhibit space. |
“This was our first year moving the show from Rosemont, Illinois to downtown Chicago, and we couldn’t have been more pleased,” said Joel Dunkel, President, EventEvolution Management. “We conducted a lot of research from our attendee and exhibitor base about making the move, and it seems to have paid off. It was our largest attended conference program and exhibit floor. The feedback we received about the downtown location was overwhelmingly positive,” Dunkel continued.
The conference program attracted 210 verified attendees which was a 7% increase over 2012 and the exhibit hall brought in an additional 292 attendees up 9% for a total verified attendance of 502. In addition to the attendance figures, the Forum featured a sold-out exhibit floor with 83 exhibitors showcasing products and services on more than 10,000 square feet. “We have a different formula for success when it comes to exhibits. We put a huge emphasis on controlling exhibit growth and limiting booth size so as not to outpace attendance, ensuring we give our exhibitors every opportunity for success,” said Dunkel.
PARCEL Forum partnered with Susan Rider of Rider & Associates to launch a new Warehousing Operations Pavilion on the exhibit floor. Attendees were able to meet with select companies that focused on WMS, pick-to-light, material handling, conveyors/sorters, voice-directed fulfillment and overall distribution center/warehouse design. “We found the quality of educational sessions and attendees to provide a fantastic means of talking to real decision-makers who came to the Forum with live funded projects and needs,” said Ed Romaine, CMO-VP Marketing, Integrated Systems Design.
In addition, the exhibit floor featured the very popular Regional Carrier Pavilion. The RCP showcased 14 regional carriers and continues to be one of the highlights of the show. “The PARCEL Forum is the best trade show for quality industry content, peer-to-peer networking and above all, putting the regional carrier in the spotlight,” said Jason Smith, Director of Sales, Eastern Connection.
The conference featured four pre-conference tutorials that covered the gambit of topics including Carrier Negotiations, Transportation Legalities, Distribution Center Efficiencies and Operating in an eCommerce Environment. Additionally, the general conference program included 45 sessions, in six tracks, over two days, focusing on Transportation, Technology and Operations.
PARCEL Forum ’14 will take place September 29 – October 1 at the Gaylord Texan, Dallas. To request information on attending, exhibiting, sponsoring or speaking, please call 866.378.4991 or email jdunkel@EventEvolution.com.
