RICHMOND, Va. — September 2026 — TemperPack will showcase its WaveKraft® Padded Mailer and explain the WaveKraft On-Demand Production System to third-party logistics (3PL) providers and fulfillment operators at PARCEL Forum 2026, Booth 132, September 14–16 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee/Orlando, Florida.

For 3PLs and fulfillment centers, the two products address a shared operational problem: legacy mailers are under protected, corrugated boxes are overbuilt and space-hungry, and both slow down pack-out. The WaveKraft Mailer replaces boxes on a growing range of SKUs, and the WaveKraft On-Demand System lets operators produce that mailer on-site instead of warehousing pallets of finished product.

    Built to Replace the Box

The WaveKraft Padded Mailer is made with a unique proprietary paper-based substrate that offers cushioning and resists compression. The gusseted design is engineered to open wide and hold its shape, giving fulfillment teams box-like capacity with mailer-level pack-out speed.

In independent lab testing conducted by Keystone Package Testing (ANAB AT-3142), WaveKraft mailers passed testing against ISTA® 6 Amazon Overbox protocols and delivered up to 45% better shock absorption than the plastic bubble mailer. It also recorded lower impact forces than macerated paper and glue-dot mailer constructions across multiple payloads.

The mailer carries a How2Recycle® “Widely Recyclable” rating, uses paper from SFI-certified (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) mill sourcing, and is made with more than 25% recycled content. It goes directly into curbside paper recycling. There’s no separate collection stream, and no plastic bubbles or glue dots.

    On-Demand Production for Fulfillment Footprints

For 3PLs managing multiple SKUs, seasonal volume swings, and tight warehouse footprints, TemperPack also has the WaveKraft On-Demand System: a Packaging-as-a-Service platform that produces mailers on-site, On-Demand, instead of requiring pre-made inventory shipped in and stored ahead of need.

The packaging system takes up a few pallet positions and produces mailers at the push of a button using rolls of proprietary paper from TemperPack.Customers order and store pallets of paper rolls, not pallets of finished mailers.

Storing 18,800 #5 mailers typically requires 19 pallets of finished mailers. With WaveKraft On-Demand, 3PLs can produce that same volume from three pallets of paper rolls. That’s an 84% reduction in warehouse space tied up in packaging inventory.

Better still, fulfillment centers can forecast supply in weeks instead of months, cut purchase-order frequency, and switch configurations as product mix or seasonal needs shift.

    Why It Matters for 3PLs

The shift comes as damage-driven returns and warehouse space both remain pressure points across e-commerce fulfillment. Twenty-five percent of shoppers report returning an online purchase specifically because it arrived damaged or defective. Also, the average shipped box runs at only 60% utilization. That’s a gap that drives added dimensional weight, void fill, and warehouse space for bulky, underused packaging.

“E-commerce has outgrown the limitations of legacy packaging formats,” said Charles Vincent, TemperPack Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer. “We engineered this mailer to deliver the protection of a box with the efficiency of an envelope while meeting the recyclability standards brands and consumers increasingly expect.”

“Switching to WaveKraft On-Demand transformed our operations. In addition to the immediate transformation the equipment provided, it has matched our ROI expectations in the first quarter of operations,” said Isaac Shertzer, Distribution Center General Manager, WebstaurantStore®.
