Postal News Blog: The US Postal Service lost $764 million in July as First Class Mail volume continued to decline, although at a slower rate than in previous months. First class volume was down 3.6% compared with July 2009. Standard (advertising) mail volume was up by 6.6%. Standard mail brings in only about one half the revenue per piece as first class, however, so total revenue continued to be lower than last year, by 1.5%. Read more!
