Journal of Commerce--UPS officials say they have seen "minimal" resistance from shippers in raising prices for domestic package services so far in 2011.

The carrier reported a 5 percent improvement in yield in the first quarter over last year, in line with the effective 4.9 percent price increase UPS announced for 2011, and the average $9.30 per piece was the highest the company has seen since the third quarter of 2008.
