BizJournals.com--As the Obama Administration spent Labor Day weekend trying to convince Congress to back war with Syria, Atlanta-based The UPS Foundation brought aid to Syrian refugees in Iraq.

On Sept. 1, the philanthropic arm of Atlanta-based United Parcel Service Inc. (NYSE: UPS) teamed with The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to airfreight 220,000 pounds of emergency aid to Erbil, Iraq, to help displaced Syrian children and families. The cargo included health and sanitation kits, therapeutic foods, tents, mats, water, early childhood materials and education supplies.
