Berlin/Frankfurt, September 30, 2013) Gartner, Inc., the world's leading information technology research and advisory company, recognized DB Schenker Contract Logistics as a ‘Leader’ in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Global Third-Party Logistics Providers (3PL) report (by Greg Aimi, James Lisica), published in March 2013. DB Schenker was one of the four named 3PL leaders included as part of the ‘Leaders’ magic quadrant, selected among a pool of twelve evaluated global service providers.
As per Gartner, “Leaders show strength in ability to execute and completeness of vision, which includes their understanding of the market and customers' needs. Compared with their competitors, they offer a broader set of integrated services across significant global regions. They score better on providing customers with continuous improvement and innovation, and provide specialized solutions within particular industry segments. They also demonstrate excellence in operations, customer service and responsiveness.”
“We believe our strong position in the Leaders quadrant by Gartner is confirmation of our progress and efforts to become one of the world´s leading providers of logistics services and deliver customer value through a good structured growth strategy, reliable solution execution and devoted logistics experts,” says Robert Walpole, Head of Logistics / Supply Chain Management Development for DB Schenker Logistics.
Gartner produces independent research and market analysis reports, which are later used by thousands of companies and government agencies worldwide. This year, Gartner evaluated for the first time global third party logistics providers, based on those companies’ capabilities of “ability to execute” and “completeness of vision”. Only those global companies offering multiple services in multiple regions and surpassing a certain annual revenue level were considered in the report. Evaluation criteria like customer experience, sales execution and pricing, market responsiveness, service offerings and executions, innovation, market understanding etc. positioned the 3PLs in four different quadrants: Leaders, Challengers, Visionaries, Niche Players.
