Journal of Commerce--FedEx Chairman Frederick Smith, in his most upbeat assessment yet of the global economic recovery, says he expects another round of inventory restocking to drive renewed shipping demand early in 2011.
"We believe consumer and business sentiments are improving," Smith said in a recent conference call with investment analysts. "We expect manufacturing and industrial production will continue to lead the economy forward in the near term and drive transportation volumes higher."
