August 25, 2011 – JERICHO, NY – Purolator International has announced that it will open 10 new branch offices during 2011, doubling its presence in the U.S. The company’s latest round of regional office expansions is indicative of the surge in demand for logistics experience and expertise in transporting goods between the United States and Canada.
At the beginning of 2011, Purolator operated 10 branch offices across the United States. Eight of those offices are located in the top 14 markets for trade with Canada. By the end of the year, the company will open ten new offices, which will give Purolator a presence in 18 of the top 20 markets.
“The expansion of Purolator will solidify our role as the choice logistics provider for service to Canada,” said Purolator Vice President for Field Sales and Service Quality John Sweeney. “No other logistics company has the commitment, the resources and the expertise in the Canadian market as Purolator.”
Regional offices locations – and branch managers – that have already opened include:
Atlanta – James Fennell
Boston – Tony Messuri
Cincinnati – Andy Paff
Cleveland – Donna Thomas
Minneapolis – John Wilson
Salt Lake City – Carla Morella
San Francisco – Lanse Shelton
The following offices are scheduled to open by the end of the year:
Houston
Miami
Milwaukee
Purolator’s growth comes at a time when U.S. businesses are increasingly looking to Canada as a source of new customers and economic opportunity. U.S. exports to Canada totaled more than $250 billion during 2010, and are on track to surpass that amount during 2011. In total, more than $1 billion in goods cross the U.S./Canadian border each day.
Purolator is deeply rooted in Canada, and offers unmatched service options, border clearance expertise, and understanding of the Canadian market. “Businesses choose Purolator because we are the recognized name in Canadian logistics,” Sweeney noted. “Other companies claim to have cross border experience, but when it comes down to it, few can match our capabilities.”
