December 19, 2012 (CLEVELAND, OH) – For the fourth consecutive year, several Greater Cleveland Area agencies will find their stockings a bit fuller thanks to a local company. They are the beneficiaries of holiday donations totaling $10,000 from PartnerShip LLC, a leading provider of shipping solutions to small- and medium-size businesses nationwide and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Oberlin-based National Association of College Stores (NACS).

The donations are in lieu of thank you gifts to customers for their patronage.

“The donations made the past three years were so well received by the benefitting agencies and inspired our employees so much that we decided to continue them again this year,” said John Finucane, PartnerShip’s president and chief operating officer.

Recipients were selected by a volunteer committee of PartnerShip employees guided by the company’s own “Value of Citizenship,” which states:

“We care about our customers, each other, and the communities in which we live and work. We treat others as we want to be treated, and pursue excellence without compromising our values.”

The company donated $2,000 to each of five charities located near its office in Cleveland, OH. The organizations receiving contributions from PartnerShip are:

• Debra (The Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association of America) was founded in 1980 and throughout its 30 years has remained committed to funding research toward finding a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare genetic disease characterized by the presence of extremely fragile skin and recurrent blister formation resulting from minor mechanical friction or trauma.
• ACS Hope Lodge (Cleveland branch) is a unique home away from home for patients and their families who need temporary, comfortable, supportive accommodations free of charge during cancer treatments.
• Ronald McDonald House-Cleveland offers a brief respite for families to use while remaining steps away from their child’s bedside, making it a bit of home within the walls of a hospital.
• Emily’s Hopeful Holiday (Amherst, OH) was created by Emily, a 12-year-old girl who was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2007. Now a cancer survivor, she and her family created EHH to raise funds to help other families at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital dealing with childhood cancer.
• Ames Family Hospice House (Westlake, OH) is a 32-bed hospice care center offering comfort care for seriously ill people and their loved ones in peaceful surroundings. This newly built facility was designed with patients and their families in mind with private suites and porches enhancing the home-like feeling.

PartnerShip, as well as its sister companies at NACS, have a long history of giving back to the community through fund-raising events and yearly participation in the local United Way drive.
