VIENNA, VA., May 27, 2016- LaserShip, a parcel carrier that services the eastern U.S., announced today their partnership with OpenLogix, an IBM Premier Business Partner, to develop its digital and mobile strategy powered by IBM MobileFirst Foundation. The first of four parts of the strategy is set to begin roll-out at the end of July and will enable LaserShip to choose touch points throughout the service lifecycle in order to provide a personalized, omni-channel experience for its customers and the consumer.

“IBM MobileFirst Foundation offers LaserShip the perfect blend of flexible tools for developing both hybrid and native apps along with robust middleware solutions for connecting mobile applications with our enterprise systems, our customers’ and supply chain partners’ systems, and with other value-added applications running in the cloud,” said Eugene Willard, CIO of LaserShip.

LaserShip is developing its mobile applications using IBM MobileFirst Foundation, a Mobile Application Development Platform (MADP), to accelerate the design, development, and deployment of its digital and mobile strategies. IBM MobileFirst Foundation enables a cross-platform, responsive design, offering LaserShip’s customers and consumers the flexibility to use the device of their choice. As an open platform supporting comprehensive standardization, IBM MobileFirst Foundation developers get to use their preferred UX and UI development tools. The new LaserShip field services mobile app will include event-driven push notifications to improve the delivery experience for their shippers, consumers, and supply-chain partners.

“We are very excited about our mobile strategy that will bring flexibility, visibility and improved touch points that provide a fun and interactive consumer experience,” said Josh Dinneen, Senior Vice President of LaserShip.
