Echo Global Logistics, Inc., a technology-driven transportation management outsourcing firm, recently announced that Douglas R. Waggoner has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer.

Waggoners career in the transportation industry spans more than two decades. Most recently, he was President and CEO of USF Bestway, a $250 million subsidiary of $10 billion publicly owned transportation company YRC Worldwide, Inc. In an earlier role at USF Corporation, Mr. Waggoner served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing.

Prior to his positions at USF Bestway, Mr. Waggoner was President and Chief Operating Officer at Daylight Transport, a privately owned LTL transportation company. Before being promoted to that position, he served as Chief Information Officer, during which he led the development of a leading edge, enterprise transportation management system.

His prior experience includes various positions in operations, sales, marketing and technology with Yellow Freight System, Consolidated Freightways and McLean Trucking Company. Mr. Waggoner, 47, earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from
San Diego State University in 1980.
