Folsom, CA, July 30, 2007The Associated Mail & Parcel Centers (AMPC) has appointed Sandra Giarde as its executive director. Ms. Giarde replaces Mark Alcorn, interim executive director, who will serve as legal counsel to AMPC.
Ms. Giarde joins AMPC from the California Cleaners Association, the countrys largest state association of dry cleaners and launderers, where she served as executive director.
Founded in 1982, Associated Mail and Parcel Centers is the largest national trade association for private retail shipping centers, representing more than 3,300 member-locations across the country. AMPCs membership includes independent and franchise-affiliated (PakMail, Parcel Plus, Postal Connections, Postal Annex, PostNet, The UPS Store) mail and parcel centers. Member locations offer a combination of USPS, DHL, UPS, and FedEx shipping, packing services, and related retail and business products.

Her extensive association leadership experience is very valuable as we continue to strengthen and enhance our industry partnerships, and advocate on important issues on behalf of AMPC members, said Mr. Fennie.
Ms. Giarde had also previously served the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California & Nevada as membership and education coordinator, and oversaw the California Lodging Expo & Conference. Earlier in her career she was responsible for issues management and advocacy on behalf of clients of the political consulting firm Russo Marsh + Raper, Inc. Ms. Giarde earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at the University of California, Riverside.
